Hope

Hope

(Psalm 71)
Eva Bridges

The desert sun has melted my joy
And I am left empty and dry
The heat suffocates me, the sand, it burns me
I wonder if I should even try

But as for me, I will always have hope
I will praise you more and more
Though the tempest arises
As for me, I will always have hope
Resting in your hands
Because you are in control
I have hope

The rising waves have washed over my love
And I am left helpless and wanting
Evil surrounds me, pressing and pushing
I wonder if I should even try
But I have to try

But as for me, I will always have hope
I will praise you more and more
Though the tempest arises
As for me, I will always have hope
Resting in your hands
Because you are in control
I have hope

Nothing can separate us, O God
No matter the trouble or trial; you are there
So I will trust you
