Prayers for the Tour - Wednesday
A Prayer for Today
(Our Father in heaven)
Dear Father, true King of the universe and beyond
(Hallowed be thy name)
I rejoice in who you are. Not abstract or unpredictable or distant, but the Person whose creative love called us into existence and sustains us.
(Thy kingdom come)
Invade us with your powerful love, dear Father! Bring your redeeming power into the messes we have created, and make something good out of it all.
(Thy will be done)
What you want, your purposes, are always better than mine. I submit my will to yours.
(On earth as it is in heaven)
In my corner of the world, let me be part of your redemption: let the chaos become order, those in pain experience healing, those in need find provision, those without hope find a good future, those far from you become your friends.
(Give us this day our daily bread)
I am insufficient, Lord. Today, hour by hour, I depend on you to supply my needs and walk with me.
(Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us)
Forgive me when I try to satisfy my desires or seek power or comfort apart from you,
just as I forgive those who do the same and hurt me in the process.
(Lead us not into temptation)
Give me strength to stay close to You during testing and struggles, rather than running away from you!
(But deliver us from evil)
Alone, I am vulnerable and weak, but I trust that You will protect me from all the forces I cannot see, cannot control, and cannot defeat on my own.
(For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever, amen).
You are the good King of all creation, and everything is from you and for you, forever and ever. Amen.

I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the creator of everything in heaven and on earth.
I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
