Blessing - an Introduction

Blessing - an Introduction

As I considered the concept of blessing, the theme for Fall 2017 Connection, I have discovered its immense scope. The whole of scripture gives compelling attention to God’s interface with people and nations in regards to blessing, and in juxtaposition to that, curses.

Blessing finds its definition in God’s perfect plan for his creation: first to demonstrate His glory, second to accomplish the good of those who love God. We sometimes struggle with exactly what those purposes entail. From the moment sin separated God’s perfect creation from the perfection of the creator, we have been conflicted about clarifying the nature of God’s blessings in our lives.

We have chosen the blessing theme to open the conversation and pique our attention to the power of God’s blessings towards us and of the power we have as God’s ambassadors to speak blessing to one another. The ho-li-day season is especially appropriate to consider blessing. Over the next several weeks we will share your stories, scriptural blessings and some thoughts about blessing as we experience the 2017 Holidays. We hope this edition of Element Connection will inspire and encourage you.

Thanks to those who contributed to this edition. I know I always say it, but I LOVE your stories with their insight and personal pathos. Thank you for sharing your selves with us.

You can still contribute.
