Last Edition

This is the final edition of Element Connection, “Seasons.” I love Ruth and Denise’s perspectives on their seasons. I think you will enjoy sharing what they have to say.

My season has changed, and this is my last edition as editor of Element Connection. It has been a delightful ten-year journey of sharing your stories with your ministry sisters in Potomac Ministry Network. I have loved hearing your stories and sharing them.

In his Prologue to Epic, The Story God is Telling and the Role that is Yours to Play, John Eldredge references the musings of Samwise Gamgee from J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings--Sam and Frodo, the two little hobbits who find themselves embroiled in the impossible task of saving Middle Earth.

“It’s at this point Sam says, ‘I wonder shat sort of a tale we’ve fallen into?’ Sam could not have asked a better question.

He assumes that there is a story; there is something larger going on. He also assumes that they have somehow tumbled into it, been swept up into it.

What sort of tale have I fallen into? is a question that would help us all a great deal if we wondered it for ourselves.

It just might be the most important question we every ask.”

It’s all about the story and your stories continues. What sort of story have you fallen into?

You, the Element women of PMN, are exactly what your name expresses. You are essential—as in the periodic table of natural elements, the most basic building blocks of the universe; you are necessary—as in everything in the natural world consists of elements; you are without alloy—pure and unadulterated. Paul describes you this way,

…for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
…so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
… Philippians 2:13 - 15

This story you have fallen into has primarily to do with shining His light in the darkness—Shine the Light; defeat the dark. The purity of your light continues to illuminate God’s story in the unique places you are called to influence as PMN Ministry Women.

For God… made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.  2 Corinthians 4:6

Let your little light shine!

Thank you for sharing your lives with me and giving me the privilege of sharing your stories.

You are loved,

Johnese
